| OPTION 1: SUN CITY - PILANESBERG GAME RESERVE |
DAYS | | | | 3 Days and 2 Nights |
| DEPARTURE | | | | Thursday, 7 June 2007 at 09h00, Cape Town |
| VEHICLE | | | | Luxury Microbus/Safari coach & Open Safari Vehicle |
| COST | | | | 916 Euro per person sharing or single room |
Pilanesberg National Park is adjacent to Sun City, a world class resort located in an extinct volcano crater .
There will be two opportunities to visit Pilanesberg National Park, home of the Big Five: elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard (the big five are not judged purely by size but by the respect hunters had for their prey).
There will also be time to participate in some of the many Sun City activities, and to play golf at the Gary Player Country Club, home to the famous Million Dollar Tournament.
Pilanesberg, in the Northwest Province, is conveniently located only about two hours' drive from Johannesburg. Centred on an ancient - totally dormant - volcanic crater, Pilanesberg is blessed with attractively undulating relief. The Pilanesberg National Park, which covers some 55 000 hectares, is the fourth largest in southern Africa. This malaria-free park is perched on the eroded vestiges of an alkaline volcanic crater - one of only three such craters in the world.
Pilanesberg exists within the transition zone between the dry Kalahari and wetter Lowveld vegetation, commonly referred to as 'Bushveld'. Unlike any other large park, unique overlaps of mammals, birds and vegetation occur because of this transition zone.
Springbok , Brown Hyena, the Red-eyed Bulbul, and Camelthorn trees usually found in arid areas are found co-habitating with moist-area-limited Impala , Black-eyed Bulbul and Cape Chestnut trees .
