Visit the College of Magic for a morning of live entertainment, demonstrations on this fascinating art and an opportunity to meet some interesting individuals. It
is situated in a vibrant double-story Victorian era house. Officially opened by the Department of Arts, Culture, Science & Technology, the Magical Arts Centre is a home to more than 150 part-time junior students, headquarters for the Distance Learning Unit, a meeting place for various cultural groups, residence to Southern Africa's only Magic Shop as well as one of the few Magic Information & Research Centres in the world.

Enjoy lunch at South Africa's family restaurant - Spur. Exciting children's play areas are a key factor in making each restaurant as family friendly as possible. As soon as children enter a Spur, they head for the jumping castle or modular play system (a colourful network of tubes, ladders, nets and platforms). More recently, Sony PlayStations, jumping castles and even a climbing wall have brought many play areas right up to date. Spur's special kiddie's menu is as popular as ever.

The afternoon will be spent at the MTN ScienCentre at Canal Walk Century City, South Africa's first world-class interactive science centre. It is a place where you can have fun, while learning about scientific discoveries and technological innovations. There are over 280 displays as well as an auditorium, camera obscura, computer rooms, laboratories, and exhibition hall.

The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and bountiful oceans, the Indian and the Atlantic. The Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town is ideally positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in these two oceans. The Aquarium is one of the top tourist attractions in Cape Town and over 3000 living sea animals, including sharks, fishes, seals, turtles and penguins can be seen in this spectacular underwater nature reserve. The Aquarium offers fantastic educational facilities to suit a wide range of age groups and topics of study. Our Environmental Education Centre includes two discovery centres which are specially fitted with a wet laboratory, terrariums and aquariums on the learners' desks to enable them to observe and touch the animals and plants. The discovery centres are also equipped with an excellent array of audio-visual equipment, including microscopes and video flexes linked to video monitors to show the lives and functions of microscopic animals not seen with the naked eye. Lunch at St Elmos will consist of mouthwatering pasta or pizzas prepared in wood-burning ovens for the authentic taste.

Visit the World of Birds in the afternoon - the largest bird park in Africa and one of the few large bird parks in the World. Over 3 000 birds (and small animals) of 400 different species are uniquely presented in more than 100 spacious landscaped walk through aviaries, allowing you the most intimate closeness with nature. Enjoy a fascinating glimpse into the private lives of birds. Get a close-up view of them as they feed, sing, display, socialise, build nests, incubate eggs and feed chicks right before your eyes - an unforgettable experience which changes with the seasons.

The morning will be spent at Cape Towns Iziko Museum where you will enjoy a guided tour and a show at the planetarium. Inside the domed auditorium, the night sky is recreated, so whatever the weather outside, the Planetarium sky is always clear.

Lunch will be a picnic in the Company's Gardens which were laid out by Cape Town's founding father Jan van Riebeeck on order of the Dutch-East India Trading Company to secure the provisioning of the colonists with vegetables. The gardens boast a rose garden, Japanese garden, fish pond and aviary. Today the Company's Garden is a large public park and botanical garden. Whilst in the Company's Garden, you can explore the Parliament, where South Africa's politicians meet during the summer months. Cape Town and Pretoria share the role of national capitals. At the bottom end of the park stands the Anglican St. Georges Cathedral and next to it, the South African Library.

Partake in a drumming workshop on Signal Hill in the afternoon. Drumming has been used in Africa for thousands of years to mark and occasion or to draw others near. Drums are used at births, weddings, funerals, celebrations and in preparation for battle.
